Go CHS Tigers!
We were all proud of our Conroe High School Tigers Marching Band as we watched the 121st Tournament of Roses parade in Pasadena, California on New Year's Day. Conroe is on the map!! The theme this year for the parade was "A Cut Above the Rest" and that is certainly true of our local high school band. How exciting for these kids as they rubbed shoulders with the other bands from all over the US who had been hand selected by the president. Senior Kelly Haas led the performance down the 5.5 mile stretch with many spectators cheering along the sides. As a child, I remember every New Year's Eve, going to the Rose Parade with our sleeping bags, hot chocolate, snacks and warm clothing as we "slept" at the chairs we had set up for our group on the parade route. How fun it was to be there for the evening excitement of music, people and cruisin' cars. And then in the morning to get a close-up view of every entry. I will never forget it and now from the warmth of our home I faithfully watch this spectacular event. My favorites are the floats with all the beautiful organic materials and the creative themes, but this year I didn't miss our very own Conroe High School Tigers Marching Band. Go Tigers! We are so proud of you!
